The Universal Classification Schema is being adopted by a growing number of hotlines, law enforcement agencies, researchers, policymakers, and platform safety teams. As implementation expands, so does the need for alignment, collaboration, and shared learning. The Schema Community of Practice is being created to meet that need.

This new Community will bring together professionals working with the Schema across systems and sectors. Whether you are annotating content, mapping national legislation, developing tools, or exploring integration, the Community of Practice will offer you a space to exchange knowledge, build capacity, and strengthen your work.

By joining, you will be part of a network focused on sharing implementation resources, discussing use cases, and supporting one another in applying the Schema effectively. The Community will host regular discussions, highlight practical examples, and promote approaches that are both context specific and consistent with the broader classification framework.

Over time, the Community will also support the responsible mapping and analysis of the structured data being generated through Schema use. This will help surface patterns, inform future improvements, and ensure that the Schema evolves in line with the needs of its users.

Joining the Schema Community of Practice means contributing to a shared mission: to make the identification and classification of child sexual abuse material more precise, more consistent, and more connected across jurisdictions. As more partners apply the Schema in real-world systems, this Community will serve as a foundation for practical coordination and cross-sector collaboration.

If you are using the Schema or planning to adopt it, we invite you to take part. Join the Community of Practice to connect with others, strengthen your implementation, and help shape how the Schema is used across contexts.
